Efficient Systems builds Perseus. We started from a plain observation: coding agents reason well but read poorly. They guess at where code lives, miss the second call site, and answer from a stale memory of the tree. The work was never the reasoning. It was the seeing.

Perseus is the retrieval engine that grounds an agent in real code. It finds code by meaning and structure, follows the thread across files, and returns answers cited to file and line. The agent stops guessing and starts reading the code that is actually there.

What we are building

A retrieval engine for codebases that is fast enough to query many times in a single task. It indexes the working tree, including uncommitted edits, and stays warm so a query comes back in about a second. We are widening language coverage, sharpening citations, and making the results easy for any agent or editor to consume.
