LEGAL
Terms of Service
Last updated June 13, 2026.
These terms cover your use of Perseus, a codebase-search retrieval engine built by Efficient Systems (legal name "efficient systems inc."). By using Perseus, you agree to them. If you are using Perseus for an organization, you agree on its behalf.
The access program
Perseus is offered in a private, evolving beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed while we learn what works. We will try to give notice for changes that affect you, but the service during this program is a moving target.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for the keys and credentials used to access the API. Keep them secret. You are responsible for activity that happens under your keys, so let us know promptly if you think a key has leaked.
Acceptable use
Use Perseus to do real work. Do not:
- Abuse, overload, or try to disrupt the service.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying systems.
- Index code you do not have the rights to index. You confirm you have the right to use any repository you connect.
Your content
Your code is yours. You keep all rights to it. You grant us only the limited permission we need to index your repositories and serve retrieval back to you. We do not use your code for anything else, and we do not train models on it.
Service availability
During the access program we do not promise any particular uptime. The service may go down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We will work to keep it reliable, but there is no uptime guarantee at this stage.
Disclaimer
Perseus is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Retrieval results are a tool, not a guarantee of correctness. Review what your agents do with them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Efficient Systems is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Perseus. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the period the claim relates to.
Termination
You can stop using Perseus at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we need to protect the service. On termination, your indexed code is removed.
Changes to these terms
We will update these terms as Perseus grows. If we make a material change, we will note it here and update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
